Elon Musk Allows DOGE Payments for Tesla, Is DOGE Integration Coming to X?

Elon Musk has been a strong advocate of DOGE for several years, since his first tweet in 2019. Since then, Musk has made multiple moves to incorporate DOGE into his various ventures . Most recently, he enabled DOGE as a form of payment for Tesla goods and is securing a payments license for social media platform, X. These moves signal that Musk is planning to offer granting DOGE payments on X, this could have a huge impact on the crypto industry

In early May 2024, Musk and Tesla quietly enabled DOGE payments on the Tesla website. The new feature comes after Musk visited the gigafactory in Berlin, where he was asked how to enable DOGE payments. “We should enable that,” Musk replied. Tesla customers can now send DOGE to the Tesla wallet in exchange for goods. Although Tesla did not officially announce this change, DOGE enthusiasts quickly noticed it and the price of DOGE increased by more than 20% in the following days.

Additionally, Musk and X have received payment licenses in US states. At the time of this report, they have 25 licenses and this number is growing every month. These licenses are needed to enable peer-to-peer (P2P) payments, similar to how Venmo and Cash App work. Additionally, an interesting anecdote from Musk's biography notes that he dreamed of offering DOGE as a form of payment on the social media platform long before he acquired X. So, the remittance license could indicate that group X is getting closer to DOGE payments on the platform.

The idea was further fueled by a retweet from Musk featuring an image of the old X.com logo next to the current X.com logo with the caption "Everything App." The post was originally tweeted by DogeDesigner on X. This account says they work for DOGE, doing UX/UI design. Musk commented on the retweet: "The Circle Will Be Complete"
