HOT NEWS: Buyers of the NFT “Mugshot” token issued by Donald Trump prepare to meet the former President of the United States at his mansion in Florida for dinner.
Some cryptocurrency users have discussed meeting Trump at his home in Mar-a-Lago as part of a deal to buy digital trading cards featuring an image of his mug.
However, the event was not confirmed on Trump's website at the time.
Trump surrendered to authorities in August 2023 after being indicted on charges related to trying to overturn the 2020 election, leading to the first mugshot of a sitting US president or former president.
In December 2023, he announced that anyone who bought at least 47 “Mugshot” digital trading cards for $99 each would be invited to dinner in person at Mar-a-Lago.
He also had to attend a criminal trial for falsifying business documents to pay adult film star Stormy Daniels and was present in a New York courtroom during the trial days.
As the first former US president to face criminal charges, Trump criticized Judge Mercan and prosecutors.
The judge mentioned Trump's contemptuous behavior 10 times when speaking about witnesses and court staff to reporters and on social media, and said he would consider jail time if it continued .
