On May 9, Bitcoin (BTC) mining difficulty fell by 5.63% to 83.15 T, the lowest level since December 2022 😮. The average hashrate over the past two weeks was 595 EH/s versus 630 EH/s, which indicates a possible shutdown of equipment by miners.

On April 20, the block reward was reduced from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC. Despite the increase in mining difficulty, miners' income remained virtually unchanged after the reward reduction.

The beginning of May marked a decline in the daily income of Bitcoin miners to October 2023 levels. CryptoQuant founder Ki Young Ju sees no signs of capitulation on the part of miners. He suggests that BTC quotes should be $80,000 after the block reward reduction.
