Richard Byworth, managing partner of SyzCapital and a Bitcoin investor, said that the Hong Kong Bitcoin spot ETF may be included in the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect program. The Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect is part of the traditional southbound Chinese capital plan.
Hong Kong ETF issuers told Wu that, like the previous rumors that southbound funds could buy Hong Kong Bitcoin ETFs, it was pure rumor.
Hong Kong's ETF circular clearly stated that it is prohibited to sell virtual asset-related products to mainland Chinese investors.
