History
We started this journey in early 2021, and our goal is to combine the most advanced Martian technology with beautiful urban design to create a complete scenario in which humans create a colony on Mars that is self-sufficient and sustainable.
To expand this scene, we’re launching Martian Item NFTs, each of which represents a physical item in the colony.
Soon after, we launched a real-time strategy game called Mission Control. In April 2021, we launched this NFT series on the WAX blockchain to support game development, achieving over $1.2 million in primary sales in 24 hours.
Mission Control
Mission Control is a real-time economic strategy game where the goal is to maximize resources and $MARTIA earnings through efficient management of a shared Martian settlement.
The game ranks among the top 30 most popular blockchain games in the world and has generated over $11.5 million in NFT sales since its launch in 2021. Additionally, $MARTIA ranks second in Total Value Locked (TVL) on the WAX Blockchain.
Mission Control Gameplay Overview
Players will need to manage their own resource chain in the game to oversee more than 50 cutting-edge items created by the Thrive on Mars team and leading experts in the space industry. In the game, each item is represented by a type of NFT card.
In the game, storms and disasters will hit the colony in real time, and players must repair the damage and restore efficient production to maintain profitability.
Players can spend resources and $MARTIA on activities that promote the expansion of their colony - build new buildings, sponsor rocket fleets, and introduce new technologies. When participating in these activities, players will have the opportunity to receive rewards such as high-rarity NFTs, skill rewards, and limited edition collectibles.
Positive real-world impact
Everything a player does in the game feeds into our proprietary data platform, providing valuable “Mars Inspirations.” This is possible because we leverage real Mars data to create the game environment.
Combined with the real-time decisions of thousands of players, we can observe macroeconomic and social trends, providing real data on the best way to thrive on Mars. As the game becomes more popular, this will generate more ideas and inspiration, triggering a continuous "Mars Innovation Flywheel".
Simulating a real Martian economy through blockchain
Mars is the first economy-driven mission, so the best way to demonstrate real-world decision-making is to tokenize the Martian economy, allowing players to freely trade resources and $MARTIA in a decentralized manner.
Because in-game items are based on real science and technology and contain fully detailed specifications, we can monitor the profitability of specific Martian technologies and the relative value of various resources on Mars. This data is important for informing decision-making and innovation at real-world space agencies - we've already partnered with the nonprofit Explore Mars to inspire a new generation of physicists and engineers to participate in the Mars 2024 Innovation Challenge.

$MARTIA is the foundation of the virtual Martian economy. It is the medium of exchange in the game and can be used to purchase various game props. It can also be obtained by playing games, staking $MARTIA liquidity pairs, or participating in the operation of Thrive Game Engine.

Outpost Surge: A replayable deck-building strategy game with roguelike elements optimized for mobile devices. Gameplay is fast and intense, with progression over multiple playthroughs.
Martian Resident: is an immersive open-world role-playing game that lets you experience life as an astronaut on Mars. You can play alone or team up with other players to explore Mars, build bases, and compete. The game is made with Unreal Engine 5 and is best experienced on gaming PCs and consoles.
