What Makes This Hackathon Unique?

One key change sets the Genesis 2024 Hackathon apart from its predecessors: there’s no requirement to submit a working prototype. Instead, participants can focus on refining their ideas and developing comprehensive business plans. This approach encourages creativity and allows a broader range of participants to showcase their unique solutions.

The hackathon aims to tap into the exciting possibilities of the Upland platform and its developer toolkit to create projects that can make a real difference in the Web3 and blockchain gaming world. With the introduction of SPARKLET and a renewed sense of enthusiasm in the Web3 industry, Upland opens up incredible opportunities to design new services, games, or experiences that can spark joy among existing communities and attract newcomers eager to explore.

The Challenge: Design and Plan

Participants have ten days to craft a compelling business plan that outlines their goals, strategies, and approach to achieving them. This isn’t the final presentation but a crucial step in demonstrating the concept’s viability. The submissions will be evaluated based on several key criteria:

  • Emphasise the knowledge and abilities of your team.

  • Explain your idea and special selling point.

  • Describe the most basic viable solution and how it addresses the issue in the MVP specification.

  • Give an example of how you intend to use the developer tools from Upland for your work.

  • Describe how you plan to introduce your product and draw in your intended market.

  • To bolster your proposal, include visual aids like a timeline, UI ideas, or a trailer.
