Oregon becomes the sixth state to revoke Binance.US' license to operate there. The Oregon Division of Financial Regulation announced that it revoked the money transfer license of Binance.US due to the nature of the crimes committed by former Binance CEO Zhao. Florida was the first state to act after Zhao admitted to violating Anti-Money Laundering laws. Alaska refused to renew his license in early January.

Binance.US has never been licensed in New York, Texas, Vermont and Hawaii. According to a page on the Binance.US website, their services are also unavailable in Georgia and Ohio. Binance opened a regional headquarters in Georgia in March 2023 with a team of 25 people.

Binance.US's problems are not limited to these. Binance.US COO Christopher Blodgett said in court testimony in December that the exchange had suffered a "near-fatal blow" and had to lay off more than 200 staff because of U.S. banks' desire not to work with it.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Binance in June. In this case, the SEC alleged that Binance.US failed to register as an exchange, broker, and clearing house. He also claimed that Binance.US had no control over "manipulative trading," cross-trading and pooling funds with Binance.
