💻Web 1.0🚀

✨Period 1991-2004

In simple terms, web 1.0 is a read-only internet.

Following the invention of the computer network, Web 1.0 came into existence in 1991. “People use the term “Web 1.0” to describe the earliest form of the Internet” (Terra, 2023)

In the era of Web 1.0, the internet resembled a vast library of static pages linked together through hyperlinks. The content was primarily presented in a read-only format, with a limited number of individuals creating websites for mass consumption. Interactivity was minimal, with HTML forms often sent via email rather than being seamlessly integrated into web pages. Graphics, predominantly GIFs, adorned the landscape, while dynamic content was sourced directly from server file systems rather than sophisticated databases.

This early iteration of the web, characterized by its reliance on HTML 3.2 elements like frames and tables, lacked the interactive features and user-generated content that define today's online experience. It was a period of exploration and discovery, laying the groundwork for the dynamic, interconnected web we now navigate effortlessly.
