Last year, I had a chilling encounter with a crypto scam giveaway that left me feeling deceived and defrauded. It all started innocently enough when I received a message in my X, from @weiler_eth. The message was 👇🏻
"Congratulations! You've been selected among the winners of the ETH giveaway, You won $5000ETH giveaway.

Drop your ETH wallet address so I can credit you, make a screenshot of your initial balance, you have to be active investor because I am sending from my hardware token.
Excited by the prospect of winning such a substantial amount of crypto, I eagerly shared my wallet address to @Paul Weiler😡
As our conversation progressed, He informed me that in order to receive the full prize amount, 1000$ I would need to cover the "gas fees" associated with the transaction. He explained that these fees were necessary to process the transfer of funds quickly and efficiently. Eager to claim my prize, I agreed to pay the requested amount without hesitation.
I transferred $100ETH worth of cryptocurrency to cover the supposed gas fees as he asked, eagerly awaiting the moment when my prize would finally materialize. But as the hours turned into days, I began to grow suspicious. He had gone silent, and my messages went unanswered. It was then that I realized I had fallen victim to a cruel and calculated crypto giveaway scam. 😥😭😭😭😥
Feeling devastated and betrayed, I reached out to the social media platform for help, but to no avail. His X profile had disappeared without a trace, leaving me to pick up the pieces of my shattered trust and bruised ego.
In the aftermath of this ordeal, I learned some valuable lessons about the importance of vigilance and skepticism in the world of cryptocurrency.
I now approach giveaways and offers with caution, taking the time to verify the legitimacy of the sender and the offer itself before taking any action.
