Sam Spratt's first art exhibition lights up Venice Biennale

An ancient Italian city celebrated digital artist Sam Spratt this week during the Venice Biennale, one of the world’s longest-running international cultural exhibitions, where Spratt debuted his first art exhibition, “Game of Monuments,” in a historic Venetian palazzo.

The exhibition features a series of ten digital artworks, displayed on light boxes that give them a glowing shadow effect, that detail apes and ape-human hybrids that exist in Spratt’s lore-driven fantasy world.

It is worth noting that the art exhibition invites viewers to participate in interactive games. Collectors who pre-order one of the 209 NFTs released before the exhibition can become "players" who observe digital paintings. These observations are then submitted to a community of existing collectors called the "Luci Committee". The committee votes on the opinions, and the top three determined by the vote will receive exclusive NFT rewards carefully selected by the artist.

Spratt, who studied oil painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design, describes his work as combining elements of Renaissance and Baroque aesthetics.
