Bitcoin broke through $66,000 and is now at $66,031.8, up 1.51% on the day. In addition, the price of Ethereum broke through $3,200 and is now at $3,205.59, up 1.43% on the day.
Bitcoin transaction fees hit a record high after the fourth Bitcoin halving, which occurred on April 20 and reduced miners' block rewards from 6.25 Bitcoin to 3.125 Bitcoin. Despite the halving of rewards, miners' total revenue on that day soared to $107.75 million, of which about 75% ($80 million) came from transaction fees.
