The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has had a devastating effect on the country's civilian population. As of the end of February 2024, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has confirmed the deaths of more than 10,670 civilians since the Russian Federation launched its attack on a large scale, on February 24, 2022. Given these numbers, many children lost family and close friends, generating a new wave of generational trauma.
To provide relief to these children and facilitate their journey to emotional recovery, Binance Charity has partnered with Children of Heroes Foundation, a Ukrainian charity supporting children affected by war. Through this partnership, we will organize a 12-day therapeutic camp called “I Am da Vinci” to help children who have tragically lost their parents and family members in the conflict.
“I Am da Vinci” Camp
The joint initiative by Binance Campus and the Children of Heroes Foundation aims to foster a safe and nurturing environment to help children affected by war overcome their trauma. The “I Am da Vinci” camp will offer a unique combination of activities and resources, emphasizing emotional recovery, community strengthening and psychological support while encouraging a sense of adventure.

Grieving children who attend the camp will have opportunities to express their experiences through a variety of creative means, including activities, competitions, and tasks that promote personal expression and intellectual development. Essential psychological counseling services will be provided throughout the camp to help process emotions, understand loss and cope with the impacts of traumatic experiences.
By providing a safe and welcoming space, the program seeks to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness, allowing children to form strong bonds with others going through similar experiences. Support for the camp was generated through donations from Binance Charity. A total of 50,000 USDT (approximately 2,000,000 UAH) will be used to help run the event, providing a crucial source of funding for this initiative.
Children of Heroes Foundation
Founded by a dedicated businessman named Danylo Pasko in the early days of the conflict on March 2, 2022, the Children of Heroes Foundation has been instrumental in helping children affected by the war in Ukraine. Having lost his father as a child, Danylo assembled a team that shared his values and desire to help children who had lost their parents in war. The initiative quickly gained support from other Ukrainian citizens, public figures and businesspeople, and in April 2022 the foundation officially began operations.
The war has damaged the emotional and psychological state of children, especially those who are grieving the loss of their loved ones. They have faced multiple psychological traumas, and if they don't work with experts now, the consequences could unfold for years. Our fund's mission is to ensure that all of our beneficiaries are integrated into society and have opportunities to build successful lives. Therefore, organizing camps like this, where children will receive support from psychologists and recover from difficult experiences, is one of the most important areas of our work. We want to see the smiling faces of children enjoying their childhood or youth again, not watery eyes, despair and irritation. Binance Charity in Ukraine
In the early days of the Russian invasion, Binance Charity created a community-funded Emergency Fund to provide immediate support and safe places for refugees fleeing conflict zones and other victims trapped in the country.
