Members of the Forta cybersecurity community have identified a new scam called Sleepdrop, which targets owners of ERC-20 cryptocurrency wallets. First, scammers issue tokens associated with well-known digital assets, such as tLink, similar to Chainlink (LINK). The attackers then send a large number of coins to the Chainlink smart contract to make it the largest owner of tLink tokens. After these manipulations, criminals transfer tLink to a large number of crypto storage users in the hope that they will follow the link to the site indicated in the token description. Victims think that the coins came from the LINK smart contract and therefore do not suspect anything wrong. People who open a scammer's web resource and link their wallets lose cryptocurrency. They are asked to sign a transaction to connect to a decentralized application, but in practice are tricked into transferring digital assets. To avoid theft of virtual currency, Forta representatives advise checking the addresses from which tokens were sent in the database of scammers using the Sleepdrop scheme.#ETH #Ethereum $ETH
