The US Financial Services Committee has scheduled a hearing to discuss digital assets and provide clarity to the ecosystem.
On June 6, Patrick McHenry, Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, announced a full committee hearing titled “The Future of Digital Assets: Providing Clarity for the Digital Asset Ecosystem”. The hearing will take place at 6 pm (UTC) on June 13 at the Rayburn House Office Building. According to the commission, the hearing will also be livestreamed on its website.

The Financial Services Commission is responsible for overseeing the country's economy. They do this through oversight of individual reserve banks and the Federal Reserve Board, the U.S. Treasury, capital markets, and currency production and distribution.
While the committee did not provide further details on what will be discussed during the hearing, members of the community are hopeful that it will address some of the most pressing issues in this space. .
One Twitter user commented that it would be great if they could solve what is currently being described as “coordinated attacks” on cryptocurrency exchanges, referring to the Securities and Exchange Commission. The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) sued cryptocurrency exchange Binance and almost immediately followed up with a lawsuit against Coinbase.

Meanwhile, other members of the community have called on the commission to rein in SEC chairman Gary Gensler. One community member believes that the SEC chairman “disregarded” what was discussed in previous hearings.
The announcement of the hearing comes after the most recent hearing of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee. On June 6, the hearing was titled "The Future of Digital Assets: Providing Clarity for Digital Asset Spot Markets." Here, the House Committee also discussed the future of digital assets, specifically the draft rules drafted by McHenry and House speaker Glenn Thompson.
