A week after the announcement of his disappearance, the co-founder of the ONFO cryptocurrency project was determined to have died from a gunshot wound.

Dr. John Forsyth - emergency physician and Bitcoin fanatic was reported missing by relatives after missing his shift at Mercy Hospital in Missouri, USA on May 21. Immediately after that, his family called for help on social networking sites. His younger brother, Richard Forsyth, said his brother never missed a shift, so police determined this was "a suspicious sign."

A week later on May 28, authorities found Forsyth's car parked less than a mile from the hospital. His personal belongings were found inside the unlocked car, while his brother said "this was very unusual because John always kept his mobile phone with him". On May 30, John Forsyth's body was found with a gunshot wound on his body.

It is known that the 49-year-old man and his younger brother founded the ONFO cryptocurrency in 2020. This is a cryptocurrency project that allows users to earn profits by introducing others to use the platform, also known as “network mining”. ONFO carried out a promotional campaign by making videos depicting the collapse of the USD and posting them on YouTube in 2021. However, since then there have not been any new videos uploaded.

In 2020, John Forsyth was called a "Bitcoin millionaire" by Forbes when he was considered a person who came into contact with Bitcoin (BTC) and blockchain technology very early.

John Forsyth was also the next cryptocurrency advocate to die mysteriously. Previously in April, Cash App founder and former Square CTO Bob Lee was killed in a knife attack. Authorities arrested the suspect on April 13, but they have not yet commented on the motive of the incident.
