PANews reported on May 6 that Arkham tweeted that the US government currently hosts more than $6 billion worth of Bitcoin on the chain. The Bitcoin they hold was seized from three incidents, namely 69,370 Bitcoins seized from Silk Road in 2020; 94,640 Bitcoins seized from Bitfinex hackers in 2022, and 51,326 Bitcoins seized from James Zhong in 2022. The US government announced plans to sell these Bitcoins in batches in 2023, and 9,861 Bitcoins have been sent to Coinbase for liquidation.
