The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is continuing its crackdown on illegal cryptocurrency ATMs. Therese Chambers, executive director of enforcement and market oversight at the FCA, said, "Cryptocurrency ATMs that are not registered with the FCA are illegal, and we will take action to stop illegal activities." The FCA said it had inspected locations in Exeter, Nottingham and Sheffield with regional police. The FCA said that the devices that convert fiat currency into cryptocurrency are considered a money laundering threat and are not registered with the FCA as required by law. (CoinDesk)
