According to Foresight News, TechCrunch cited people familiar with the matter as saying that unknown hackers are invading some users with AT&T email addresses, using this access to break into the victims' cryptocurrency trading platform accounts and steal their cryptocurrency assets. AT&T said that cyber criminals took advantage of API issues to control the victims' email addresses.

Earlier this month, an anonymous source said a group of cybercriminals had found a way to hack into the email addresses of anyone with att.net, sbcglobal.net, bellsouth.net and other AT&T email addresses. The hackers were able to do this because they had access to a portion of AT&T's internal network that allowed them to create mail keys for any user.
