Dùng phép tính đơn giản thì người này đã kiếm được lợi nhuận 122,000 lần từ lượng BTC mà mình đào được vào 15 năm trước. Hiện nay, tổng cộng có 1.75 triệu ví Bitcoin đã không hoạt động trong hơn một thập kỷ. Trị giá số BTC này khoảng 121 tỷ USD và đều được mua khi BTC chỉ ở dưới 100 USD.

Gox bắt đầu trả nợ BTC và BCH vào tháng 7/2024, Bitcoin giảm về 60.600 USD Tính tới tháng 9 năm ngoái, MT GOX thống kê là sẽ trả 142K BTC, 143K BCH (vì BTC hard fork năm 2017) và 69 tỷ Yen (~$430 triệu USD). MT GOX trước đây đã cho các chủ nợ 2 sự lựa chọn: A. Nhận sớm 20% tổng số tiền bồi thường, 80% còn lại không rõ B. Nhận đủ 100% nhưng sẽ muộn hơn nhiều. Những chủ nợ chọn option A thì sẽ nhận 25% tiền mặt và 75% #bitcoin và #BCH Ai sẽ chọn option nào hay con số chính xác thì không rõ nhưng có thể nghĩ tới một giả thuyết: 100% chọn option A để lấy 20% bây giờ. 142K BTC (tổng số BTC) x 20% (option A) x 75% (trả bằng BTC, 25% tiền mặt) = 21,300 BTC (~$1.3 tỷ USD ở mức $61K). 🔰 $1.3 tỷ USD ước tính không phải cao như các bài báo viết là $9 tỷ USD
