The man committed the same crime 13 times in just three months.

The Alagoas Civil Police has arrested a hacker accused of defrauding the digital systems of a bank website and stealing 316,000 reais. The officers from the Anti-Financial Institutions Crime Unit of the Directorate for the Fight against Corruption and Organized Crime (DRACCO) carried out the arrest last Saturday (18th) in the parking lot of a shopping center in the capital, Maceió.

Police chief Filipe Caldas said the man committed the same crime 13 times over a period of about three months. The last embezzlement, for an amount of about 50,000 reais, occurred when the bank noticed the criminal's actions and contacted the agency, passing on the details, according to a publication of the Civil Police.

Caldas then contacted the bank's intelligence and fraud prevention department to request a freeze on the amount stolen by the criminals, who had accounts in at least eight financial institutions.

The publication stressed that "we immediately launched a joint action with the company where the author worked, obtained video footage proving the actions carried out by the hackers on the bank's virtual platform and confiscated the computers used for the fraud for expert purposes".

Police will investigate whether other people were involved, and the bank, which did not disclose names, reported that the losses caused by such crimes exceeded 2 million reais.

After the arrest, the hacker was taken to DRACCO headquarters for legal formalities. During the custody hearing, the arrest was converted to a preventive arrest. #巴西  #窃取
