PANews reported on November 3 that Binance founder and CEO Zhao Changpeng said in an interview with Bloomberg that Binance is considering acquiring banks to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the cryptocurrency world. Zhao Changpeng did not disclose the specific acquisition target, and he said he was open to minority investments or full acquisitions. Zhao Changpeng also pointed out that investing in banks is a reasonable strategy for Binance because when working with banks, Binance usually attracts many new users, which will also increase the bank's valuation. Zhao Changpeng has stated in the past that Binance has more than $1 billion for acquisitions, and he recently provided $500 million in funding for Musk's acquisition of Twitter. So far this year, Binance's acquisition strategy has focused on areas such as DeFi and NFT.
