I have been paying more attention to airdrops recently, and have also tried to do some interactive tasks. To sum up, it is not easy for new players to interact and get airdrops.

Chuxiaolian wrote an article last month titled "I interacted with 13 projects in one month and received a $100 airdrop." Most projects have not issued airdrops, and the waiting process is long and may not produce results; even if there are results, the returns may not be that great.

Pixel Farm Game Valentine's Day Party

In early February, Optimism released its second airdrop. With an investment of $20, I received 3.2 OPs, worth $7, which was a loss.

Another player in the group manually interacted with 40 accounts, and each account received a different amount of OP airdrops, with a total profit of $600. After deducting the gas fee, the profit was very low, and it took a lot of time.

In this OP secondary airdrop, 300,000 wallet addresses received OP airdrops, and 150,000 wallet addresses received less than 5 OP airdrops, which was not enough to cover the gas fee at the time. There were widespread complaints on social media that the Optimism secondary airdrop was not enough to cover the cost. There were great expectations, but also great disappointment.

As a popular interactive project, OP’s two airdrops received extremely high attention, especially the second one, which announced in advance that a new round of snapshots would be launched and officially announced the airdrop news, attracting a large number of users to interact.

Odyssey’s 18 NFT tasks allow users to understand and experience the different product applications of the OP ecosystem. The exposure to the ecosystem is very direct, but for interactive players, the benefits are extremely low.

The era of simply interacting to gain airdrop benefits is over.

For ordinary users, how does the interaction work?

According to the data of the second OP airdrop, 13 wallet addresses received tens of thousands of OPs, and these wallets have deep interactions. Only those who have deep interactions with the project are loyal users, and can get higher airdrop weights and more benefits.

For ordinary users, they just follow the tutorial to interact and then wait for the airdrop results. There may not be any big expectations in the future.

New users do not have a deep understanding of the project, nor do they know why they should interact with it. Simply betting on airdrops will not yield much results.

Instead of skimming the surface and interacting with many projects, it is better to focus on experiencing and understanding a few products, truly love and support the projects from the bottom of your heart, and become an early supporter.

But it is also possible that the supported project will not develop well in the end, and there will be no airdrops and future, and all your efforts will be in vain.

The army of airdrops is getting more and more crowded, with hundreds or even thousands of accounts involved. The era of interacting for the sake of interaction is over, and there must be a method to get the airdrops.

OP Second Airdrop Data

After seeing other people's airdrops on social media with high returns, newbies try to follow up, only to find that the results are not what they thought. They spend a lot of time and have to bear the gas fee investment, but in the end, they get nothing.

Perhaps changing the way you play, identifying a project, and deeply participating in it may lead to gains.

For example, the Lens airdrop is expected to be very high during this period, and there are many social products in the ecosystem. Although I don’t know how the airdrop weight distribution will be, as a key web3 social project, you might as well try to download and experience it.

Understanding the difference between traditional web2 and web3 social networking will really change the way we socialize in the future.

For example, in the ecosystem, try to socialize and interact with social products such as Lenster, Phaver, and Orb, and understand the social characteristics of web3, then you may have a chance to get airdrops.

Today, NFTFi star project BLUR launched an airdrop. Users who traded on the project in the early stage and received points and blind boxes all received Blur airdrops. According to the data, 34.5% of the addresses received BLUR airdrops between 100 and 1k; 45.7% of the addresses received 1k-10k.

BLUR was launched on several platforms at the same time, with a launch price of $0.1, a high point of $8.36, and a current price of $0.68. One player invested 8ETH and earned $220,000.

Users continue to trade NFTs on the Blur platform. The higher the transaction frequency, the more points they earn and the greater the airdrop benefits.

Chu Xiaolian considered the investment costs and benefits and gave up on his own initiative. He didn’t understand how to play it and didn’t want to bear the investment pressure, so he gave up on his own initiative. He didn’t envy the money he couldn’t make.

Airdrop returns are often higher for projects that require capital interaction.

The above is a summary of my recent interactions. In the future, I will pay more attention to the ecosystem and products, become a product user first, and then consider future airdrop opportunities.

There is no direction, just simple interaction, and you just lose gas fees and waste time.

The above is just my personal opinion, not investment advice. I am Chu Xiaolian, and I am paying attention to the Metaverse and web3.
