According to PANews, Musk confirmed that his artificial intelligence startup xAI has ended negotiations with Oracle to expand its existing agreement and lease Nvidia chips. xAI is building a supercomputer with 100,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs, which is expected to be delivered and start training later this month. Musk pointed out that this will become the most powerful training cluster in the world, with a huge lead. He emphasized that xAI's core competitiveness lies in being faster than any other artificial intelligence company.

Prior to this, xAI had rented 24,000 H100 chips from Oracle and used them to train Grok 2. Musk said Grok 2 is currently in the final polishing stage and is expected to be released as early as next month. In May this year, it was reported that the two companies were close to reaching an agreement to expand their partnership, and xAI would spend about $10 billion to rent cloud servers from Oracle for several years.
