According to PANews, Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett reported that Senator Dr. Roger Marshall talked about the power struggle between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to determine which digital assets are securities and which are commodities. Marshall asked CFTC Chairman Rostin Behnam whether the supervision of all digital assets could be handed over to the CFTC to simplify the supervision process. Behnam said that he was personally willing to accept the proposal and believed that the CFTC had the relevant expertise and capabilities. He also pointed out that this would require some changes to the definition of securities and commodities. Previously, the CFTC Chairman had said that if the CFTC could not obtain supervision of the crypto market, the market would be at risk.
