According to Wu, the EIP-7732 proposal, which focuses on achieving the encapsulation proposer-builder separation (ePBS) at the Ethereum protocol level, has been officially created. Proposer-builder separation (PBS) aims to separate the transactions in the selected sorted blocks (builders) from the roles (proposers) that verify their contents and propose blocks to the network, in order to ensure the decentralization of block verification and maximize the profitability of validators on blocks. The specific solution is implemented by mev-boost developed by Flashbots.

ePBS directly encapsulates PBS into the Ethereum consensus layer, avoiding dependence on the relayer and potential failure risks. It can achieve trustless exchange between block proposers and builders, increase network propagation speed, and reduce the workload of validators by delaying verification execution.
