According to TechFlow, Polygon ID has been spun off from Polygon Labs and renamed Privado ID to expand beyond the Polygon network. The move is aimed at meeting global demand for digital identity and reputation solutions that can be used with online and on-chain data to address the growing problems of identity theft, fraud, and AI-generated content.

The Privado ID team includes Polygon co-founders David Schwartz and Antoni Martin as CEO and COO, Jordi Baylina, a key figure in the development of Polygon zkEVM, as a technical advisor, and Polygon Labs co-founder Sandeep Nailwal as a growth advisor. They believe that Privado ID's technology will revolutionize the way individuals, institutions and organizations discover and interact with each other in the connected space, reduce the cost of trust, and mitigate the risks of identity theft, fraud and misinformation.
