According to CoinDesk, the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) is asking Craig Wright to pay 85% of its legal fees. COPA took Wright to court in February to determine if he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin. James Mellor, the presiding judge in the case, ruled in March that Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto. COPA's legal representatives asked Judge James Mellor on Friday to make Craig Wright pay 85% of the organization's costs incurred in the legal process. COPA took Wright to a British court in February to determine once and for all whether he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, because Wright has been suing members of the crypto community for years on the premise that he is Satoshi Nakamoto. The British court ruled in March that Wright is not the creator of Bitcoin, nor the author of the Bitcoin white paper. Jonathan Hough, a legal representative of COPA, asked for a civil restraining order against Wright to prevent him from filing any other legal action because "he made threats." COPA also proposed submitting a list of online posts that Wright should take down. Hough said the case should be prosecuted criminally after the court determined that Wright had forged multiple documents during the trial. Bitcoin developers involved in the case are also demanding that Wright pay 85.2% of their fees. Unless Wright is stopped, he will continue to "spread lies," Hough argued.
