According to PANews, the European Council has officially approved the "Artificial Intelligence Act", the world's first comprehensive regulation on artificial intelligence (AI). The European Commission proposed this bill in 2021 to protect citizens from the harm of this emerging technology. After several rounds of negotiations and consultations, the European Parliament approved the bill in March this year.

The EU's AI Act imposes strict transparency obligations on high-risk AI systems and lower requirements on general AI models. After being approved by both legislative bodies, the bill will be published after being signed by the European Parliament and the President of the European Council, and will come into force 20 days after publication.
