As reported by CryptoPotato, David Schwartz, the CTO of Ripple, recently accepted various questions from users. He was asked who was the most important person in the history of Ripple, and he could only pick one from five options: Jed McCaleb (the company's CTO until 2013), Schwartz himself, Chris Larsen (Executive Chairman), Brad Garlinghouse (CEO), or someone else. The current CTO chose Larsen due to his commitment to the idea at a time when it was "hard to do." He also admitted that the executive chairman "really believed" in the potential of Ripple before him.

Chris Larsen is the co-founder of Ripple Labs, and he served as the company's CEO until 2016, when he brought in Brad Garlinghouse to take over. However, Larsen was hit in December 2020 when the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a legal action against Ripple, Garlinghouse, and himself. The regulator accused them of conducting an unregistered securities offering by selling XRP, raising more than $1.3 billion.
