According to Jinshi, Moody's Analytics pointed out in a report that Australia's inflation easing may slow down after the first quarter. The report showed that the monthly CPI index in January and February increased by 3.4% year-on-year, exceeding expectations of a moderate increase. Moody's Analytics expects March data to show that inflation remains strong again, with the overall inflation rate for the whole quarter being 3.4%, lower than 4.1% in the December quarter last year. However, the recent surge in US inflation highlights the challenges of returning CPI to target, and risks around oil prices may keep inflation stickier than expected.
