James Howells, an IT engineer from Newport, Wales, lost his lawsuit to recover a hard drive containing 8,000 Bitcoins (worth $770 million) that was mistakenly dumped in a landfill in 2013. The British court dismissed the case, saying it was “unlikely to succeed” and that digging up the remains would be harmful to the environment.

Despite repeated offers to split the profits if the hard drive was found, Howells still claims to own the Bitcoins and is looking to exploit their value in the future.
