Wu said that according to the Korea Economic Daily, the South Korean prosecutors recently added charges against a 30-year-old woman suspected of operating an illegal cryptocurrency gambling website, including concealing criminal proceeds and perjury. It is reported that the illegal platform has processed a total of 24,600 bitcoins (about 2.3 billion US dollars), involving more than 2 trillion won. The prosecutor pointed out that the defendant had previously concealed 1,476 bitcoins that the police tried to freeze, and claimed that these bitcoins were stolen by the police. However, the relevant investigation did not find such evidence, so the prosecutors filed additional charges against him for perjury. At present, the defendant has hired two large law firms to defend him, and the case is being heard in the Supreme Court of South Korea.
