According to a TechFlow report on January 6, Cointelegraph reported that Brendan Greene, the founder of the online battle royale shooting game (PUBG), stated in an interview with IGN that the metaverse project Artemis he is developing currently does not plan to introduce NFTs. Greene believes that blockchain could play a role as a digital ledger at some stage in the future, but for now, the team will focus on game engine development and creating engaging game content.
The Artemis project is divided into three phases: the first project, Prologue, is a realistic survival game trained on NASA Earth data, scheduled for release in 2025; the second unnamed project will focus on a massive multiplayer world; the final phase, Artemis, aims to create a '3D internet' that allows players to create and interact in different worlds.
