According to Deep Tide TechFlow news on January 4, as reported by Bitcoin.com, Dropstab's on-chain analysis shows that the total amount of airdrops for cryptocurrency projects in 2024 reached $14.91 billion. Among them, Hyperliquid topped the list with a scale of $1.34 billion, covering over 90,000 users; Starknet airdropped 700 million tokens worth $1.33 billion to 1.3 million addresses; Pengu, Wormhole, and Jupiter airdropped $1.15 billion, $896 million, and $891 million respectively.
In terms of project types, Layer 2 accounts for the highest share at 28.3% ($4.22 billion), followed by DeFi and Layer 1 at 22.2% ($3.31 billion) and 17.6% ($2.63 billion) respectively, while gaming and meme coins, liquid staking, and AI projects account for $2.28 billion, $1.27 billion, and $373 million respectively.
