Tether Invests $775 Million in Video Sharing Platform Rumble

Tether has announced a $775 million strategic investment in video sharing platform Rumble just weeks after the platform announced it would add Bitcoin to its balance sheet. Tether, the world’s largest stablecoin by market cap, has invested $775 million in Rumble, a YouTube alternative known for not censoring content.

“Tether believes strongly in the core values ​​of free speech and financial freedom,” Tether CEO Paolo Ordoño said in a post on X on Dec. 20.

Independence and Resilience – Two Key Factors for Tether’s CEO

“Our strategic investment in Rumble greatly underscores Tether’s focus on supporting technology and companies that empower people, and provide independence and resilience to our community,” Ordoño said.

Ordoño said he is optimistic about what Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovsky and his team have built and looks forward to collaborating on a “shared vision.” Tether and Rumble plan to collaborate on advertising, cloud, and crypto payments solutions.
