It has been a long time since I've written essays, articles, and prose poetry. Today, I strolled by the Han River and briefly shared my views on fishing.

I used to think that fishing is not about the fish, but about the act of fishing itself; this is the highest realm of fishing.

Often walking by the river, after listening to some fishing friends' shares, I have changed some views on fishing. It's not about the fish but about the act of fishing; this is a kind of pretentious nonchalance from literati, the spirit of Ah Q, an excuse and self-comfort for not catching fish. Fishing is actually mostly purposeful; otherwise, who would want to sit there motionless for half a day or even a whole day waiting? Fishermen have invested time costs.

Professional anglers by the river mostly come with the goal of catching a certain amount of fish every day. For example, I just heard a professional angler uncle who often fishes by the Han River share that he has 16 years of fishing experience. When the weather is warm, he often catches 70 to 80 jins (about 35 to 40 kg) of fish daily. In winter, it’s slightly less, averaging a dozen or twenty jins, sometimes just a few half-jin crucian carp and small carps. When market conditions are good, he has caught wild red-scaled fish, which are about 5,000 per jin, and someone would come to collect them immediately after a phone call. He has also caught Yangtze knife fish, which has a market price of over 100,000 per jin. For professional anglers, their daily catches are basically directly monetized, except for common fish like grass carp, carp, crucian carp, and big-headed fish that they take home to eat. Of course, the big black big-headed fish caught by the river, although not a precious freshwater fish, can be sold for 80 per jin and would be snapped up by passersby. Fish heads made into chopped pepper fish head is a top dish and very delicious.

I noticed he mentioned the term 'market conditions', which indicates that he appears very professional as a fisherman. 'Market conditions' pertain to the market itself; there are trades and markets, which create market conditions. Being able to catch good fish and sell them for a good price is the most direct goal of a professional angler. The patience and resilience during the fishing process are the most valuable qualities. Impatient people will definitely not catch any fish.

Playing with cryptocurrencies is the same. The purpose of playing with cryptocurrencies is to make money. In the cryptocurrency market, we also need the patience and resilience of a fisherman. When the market is good, we must attack fiercely, with the goal of catching more big and famous fish. When the market is not so good, we wait for good opportunities to strike, with catching fish as our primary objective, followed by the pursuit of good fish. Jiang Taigong fished with a straight hook; although he couldn't catch many fish, his immense patience was aimed at catching the big fish, King Wen of Zhou.
