Introduction

CZ, former Binance CEO, says he won’t return to the role but is open to a Trump pardon. He now focuses on mentoring and funding crypto projects.

Community Calls for Pardon

John Lilic, from the Telos Foundation, asked Trump to pardon CZ. He argued that CZ was a victim of unfair legal actions. Furthermore, he suggested that CZ could help the crypto industry grow if allowed to return. As a result, many in the crypto world supported the idea.

Supporters shared posts like “Free CZ” and called him a leader for crypto. In addition, some suggested CZ should return to Binance. Others, however, proposed that he lead a global push for crypto adoption. For example, one user wrote, “Not CEO of Binance, but CEO of crypto.”

CZ’s Reply

CZ responded directly to Lilic with a clear message. He said, “No wish to be CEO again. But definitely wouldn’t mind a pardon.” While CZ does not want to lead Binance again, he acknowledged that a pardon would help him focus on other goals.

Instead of running Binance, CZ wants to help in other ways. Therefore, he plans to mentor and fund new projects. Moreover, he aims to support young leaders in crypto.

CZ’s Legal Troubles

CZ recently served four months in prison. He pleaded guilty to charges tied to Binance’s operations. These included facilitating deals in sanctioned countries like Iran and Cuba. As part of his plea, Binance paid a $4.3 billion fine. In addition, CZ paid $50 million and stepped down as CEO.

In a recent interview, CZ clarified a common misconception. He said his plea deal does not ban him from leading crypto firms. “Those two words don’t exist in my plea agreement,” he explained. However, CZ reiterated that he has no desire to return as Binance’s CEO.

Focus on the Future

Now, CZ is focused on achieving new goals. He wants to guide and fund crypto projects. Furthermore, he believes the future of crypto depends on fresh ideas. By mentoring young talent, he hopes to drive the next wave of blockchain growth.

Though he stepped down as CEO, CZ still has ties to Binance. For instance, he remains a shareholder and can influence the exchange. Meanwhile, his primary focus is on helping the industry expand.

CZ’s Role in Crypto

CZ’s time at Binance left a lasting mark on the crypto world. Many believe he can still help the industry thrive. Additionally, some argue that a pardon could allow him to take on larger roles.

For now, CZ is committed to mentoring and funding. His goal is to help crypto grow and mature. Consequently, his work could shape the next wave of blockchain innovation.
