So far, KGeN has raised a total of $30 million in total financing.
It is worth noting that the lead investor, Aptos Labs, was founded by Mo Shaikh and Avery Ching, and focuses on developing decentralized network tools. It has currently received over US$400 million in financing. Investors in Aptos Labs include well-known institutions such as a16z, Jump Crypto, and PayPal Ventures.
Financing background and objectives
Founded in 2022, KGeN is a decentralized network platform dedicated to realizing game player data ownership. It plans to promote organic user growth for game studios by establishing a circular game economy system for player digital identity. This round of financing will accelerate the development of a circular game economy where players own digital identities, and promote KGeN's growth in the $250 billion game industry and its revolutionary data sovereignty solution.
Mo Shaikh, CEO of Aptos Labs, said in an interview: "In the traditional gaming industry, players often lack control over their personal data. KGeN is driving major changes in the industry, committed to giving players true ownership of their digital identities and establishing new standards for data ownership and use."
Technological advantages and market performance
KGeN provides players with a complete solution for digital identity construction, ownership confirmation and value realization through its core technology Proof of Gamer (PoG) engine. It is understood that the engine has accumulated more than 197 million game player attribute data, covering 93 data dimensions. These data provide game developers with accurate user portraits and personalized marketing plans. Currently, KGeN operates in India, Brazil, Nigeria, Southeast Asia and the Middle East and North Africa, with 10.8 million registered players and 3.3 million monthly active users.
Manish Agarwal, KGeN Council Member, said: “Aptos Labs’ technical background from Meta gives it a unique insight into community building and data-driven growth. Through this collaboration, we will expand the multi-chain POG engine and work to establish a new paradigm for fairer game distribution.”
Business value and future planning
By integrating Web2 and Web3 ecosystems, KGeN provides game publishers and blockchain developers with in-depth user behavior analysis. According to feedback from partners, using KGeN's solution can reduce customer acquisition costs (CAC) by 30-60%.
In the future, KGeN will use this round of financing to focus on the following areas:
Expand platform functions and data analysis capabilities
Strengthening partnerships with game developers
Optimize player reward mechanism
Expanding business in emerging markets
