Today, the results of the Alaska House of Representatives election came out. Republican candidate Nick Begich defeated the Democratic incumbent Native American congressman Mary Peltola, expanding the House of Representatives advantage to 219-213.

Due to its sparse population, Alaska has only one representative seat in the House of Representatives. Nick Begich comes from a local political family. His grandfather was a federal congressman. Unfortunately, he disappeared mysteriously on a flight in 1972 and was declared dead. Later, his uncle inherited the political mantle and was successfully elected to the U.S. Senate in 2008.

The National Republican Congressional Committee said in a congratulatory letter, "The people of Alaska sent an America-first warrior to drain the political swamp and end the liberal war in Alaska. Nick Begich will do it." $METIS
