Breaking news: According to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission’s Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group stationed at the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision on November 20, Yao Qian, former director of the China Securities Regulatory Commission’s Technology Supervision Department and former director of the Information Center, was expelled from public office. The notice clearly pointed out that Yao Qian used virtual currency and other means to trade power for money. Yao Qian was born in 1970 in Anhui Province. He graduated from the Department of Information Management and the Department of Computer Science of Nanjing University with a doctorate in engineering. In his early years, he worked in the China Securities Regulatory Commission, China Securities Depository and Clearing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as China Clearing), and the People’s Bank of China. He served as deputy director of the Central Bank’s Technology Department, director of the Digital Currency Research Institute, and inspector of the Technology Department.
