A fan just asked me about the OP coin, and I remembered something I want to share with everyone:
I've talked about these 5 coins together: OP, ARB, STRK, TIA, and WLD.
There is no problem with short-term speculation on these coins; every wave of the market for rebounds is fine. Holding OP and ARB to bet on the Ethereum rally is also fine, but I would definitely not hold them for the long term.
I have excluded these five coins from my list of holdings for a bull market, and I do not recommend others choose these coins as holdings in a bull market.
Reason:
These 5 coins currently have basically over 60% of the coins still locked and have not been released. However, they will gradually be unlocked, especially WLD, where only 22% is currently circulating in the market. What does this mean? It means that 78% of the coins are still locked. These will all need to be unlocked in the future.
Why I do not recommend buying, for example, to make it easier for you to understand: let's say you are single now, with a monthly salary of 5000. You can actually live quite well; one person can feed the whole family. A year later, your salary increases to 8000, and you have a wife now, so you need to give her half to spend. Although your salary has increased, the actual money you can use is only 4000. Two years later, your salary goes up to 10000, but you have a child now, and you have to allocate 3333 for your child. Although your salary has increased, the actual money you can use is only 3333.
Do you understand what I mean? It's simple. In other words, although the market value of these coins will continue to rise in the future, the circulating quantity will also keep increasing due to unlocking. Therefore, overall market value may increase, but for each coin specifically, the unit price may not necessarily rise or rise significantly.
Of course, I'm not saying these coins will definitely not rise. I didn't say that; what I mean is that the potential for increase may not be as much as with other coins. And once the total market value grows at a rate slower than the unlocking speed, then this kind of coin is trash! So, make it clear, I didn't say these coins won't rise, I just said that in terms of growth, they may hold you back. It's better to avoid these coins. Because each coin has a different unlocking cycle, I'm speaking in general terms.
In fact, there are similar coins, so my standards and methods for selecting coins can also be applied to other coins. Look at how much total supply there is, how much is currently in circulation. It's best to play with coins that have mostly been unlocked, rather than those that are mostly still locked. These will make you suffer in the long run.
Every time I see WLD, I find it amusing how many inexperienced investors have infinite faith in it. Currently, only 22% has been unlocked, and I just overestimated this one. Do you understand what this means? The current circulating market value of WLD is 1.231 billion USD, with a unit price of 2. If everything is unlocked, it would still need to maintain a unit price of 2, which means its total market value needs to rise to 20 billion USD. It would need to increase by 10 times + to maintain the current price. If the total market value does not rise to 20 billion USD, just think about how much the coin price would drop.
Moreover, with a market cap of $20 billion, it can rank in the top six according to the current market value ranking. And the key issue is that, even if its market cap rises to $20 billion under full unlocking, it would only maintain a unit price of 2 for each coin. Playing with such a coin is like giving away your life. So, I've seen many inexperienced investors online who have faith in this thing, saying it will rise to 100; it really makes me want to laugh!
