It’s Migration Season
It is with excitement and a bit of nostalgia that we begin writing the closing paragraphs of Aavegotchi’s Polygon chapter and say farewell to the purple goons.
Polygon will always be the ancestral stomping grounds of the Aavegotchis, but they are growing up now and moving into their own chain—Geist!
During Aavegotchi’s 3+ years on Polygon, we have collected a LOT of stuff. Thus, our first priority is to safely migrate the majority of the Aavegotchi ecosystem to Geist.
This migration will begin in November, with various technical architecture like bridging, subgraphs, and other key infra going up throughout the month.
Notable milestones during this process will be:
Migration of GHST, Alchemica, and GLTR tokens
Migration of Aavegotchis, Wearables, FAKE Gotchis art, and Forge NFTs
Launch of the full Aavegotchi Dapp on Geist, including an updated permissionless Aavegotchi Baazaar (now the primary marketplace of Geist) with support for trading on both Polygon and Geist
In the short term, some experiences will remain on Polygon, such as opening Portals or minting FAKE Gotchis. But in time, these too will be available on Geist.
