With this week's launch, bitcoin price surged above $64,000

On Saturday, law enforcement prevented what would have been Donald Trump's third assassination attempt.

Bitcoin price surged above $64,000 earlier in the week. Bitcoin has since recovered from its previous drop to $62,000 and is now up about 2% today, as of this writing.

This is the first time Bitcoin has broken above $64,000 since October 7. Except for a drop below $59,000 on October 10, the coin's price has been fairly stable around $62,000 for the past seven days.

Last week saw two days of inflows into crypto commodities related to US-based Bitcoin ETFs.

Last week, Bitcoin exchange-traded funds received $308 million.

In the seven days from October 7 to October 11, $308 million poured into Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States.

On October 7 and October 11, the amount of crypto-commodities inflow was over $235 million and over $253.5 million respectively.

As of October 11, U.S.-based exchange-traded funds (ETFs) held nearly $58.6 billion worth of Bitcoin. Additionally, official data from SoSoValue shows that as of last Friday, the total net inflow into crypto commodities amounted to $18.81 billion.

Key developments over the weekend may have thwarted another Trump assassination attempt, which could explain Bitcoin’s hopeful price trend this week.

Police arrest armed individual at Trump rally

Al Jazeera reported that over the weekend, police may have foiled a third assassination attempt on Trump.

The Guardian reported that at former US President Donald Trump's campaign event in California last Saturday, police arrested a man carrying a gun, fake press credentials and VIP tickets.

A police statement on Sunday named the suspect as Vem Miller, a resident of Las Vegas. Miller was arrested by police at a checkpoint about a half-mile from the entrance to the protest in Coachella Valley, California.

The suspect was allegedly armed with a loaded shotgun, a pistol and a large-capacity magazine, police said.

Two other assassination attempts on Trump have occurred this year, in July and September.

Elon Musk recently called next month's US election, which takes place on November 5, "the most important election of your LIFE."
