Sui wants to be the next Solana?
Sui has attracted much attention recently. The most discussed Sui-related topic on social media is "SUI tokens seem to be replicating SOL's 2021 trend". Many people believe that the recent rise of SUI is very similar to the start-up phase before the last round of SOL's surge, so it is inferred that Sui may become the next Solana.
But is this statement reliable? How is the actual development of Sui's ecosystem?
SUI's price trend has indeed performed well recently. Since it created a recent low of $0.4625 on August 5, it has rebounded strongly. As of October 4, data shows that the price of SUI has reached a high of $2.0052, the highest increase among the tokens of mainstream public chains.
However, this price is still far from the high of $2.18 created in March this year.
SUI's outstanding performance may come from Grayscale's recognition. On August 7, Grayscale announced the launch of two new crypto investment products, trust products for SUI tokens.
Rayhaneh Sharif-Askary, head of product and research at Grayscale, said in a statement: "We are excited to add Bittensor and Sui to our product suite and believe that Bittensor is at the core of decentralized AI development, while Sui is redefining smart contract blockchains."
At present, it is too early to call Sui a "Solana killer". In contrast, TON may be a more appropriate direct competitor of Sui.
