Bitcoin was created in response to the 2008 financial crisis to overcome the manipulation and mismanagement of financial systems by governments, financial institutions, and vested interests. However, Bitcoin ownership has become increasingly concentrated among governments, financial institutions, and large investors. Today, 6.5% of total wallets hold 98% of Bitcoins.

This creates a paradox that runs counter to Bitcoin’s decentralized principles. As institutions grow more influential over Bitcoin, it may become no different from traditional financial assets. What do you think about these developments? We welcome your comments.
