What Happens to Tokens After an Airdrop
KeyRock analyzed 62 airdrops conducted on six blockchains during 2024. According to the results, 88.7% of the tokens in the study showed a significant price decline after 90 days. Only a few of them showed sustainability.
Airdrops are used in the crypto ecosystem to increase engagement in a project and tokens to be distributed more widely among users. However, the oversaturation of such strategies seems to have weakened their impact.
“When analyzing price movements over 15, 30, and 90 days, it becomes clear that most changes occur in the first days after the airdrop. After three months, only a few tokens show a positive result, and only a few go against this trend,” the analysts note.
