$PROS $PNUT $DOGE Altcoins are any cryptocurrency or token other than Bitcoin. For example, completely different cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, Litecoin, XRP, Dogecoin memecoin or USDT stablecoin have in common that they can all be called altcoins.

A cryptocurrency market analyst explained this behavior of altcoins by macroeconomic factors: “In conditions of insufficient liquidity against the background of the continuing decline in the balance sheets of global central banks, the liquidity that is available and comes to the markets is mainly tied to institutional investors. After all, retail does not have the same volumes of cheap long money as, for example, during the policy of quantitative easing in 2020.”

He also noted the multiple increase in inflows into Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) since the end of October, which is pushing Bitcoin up due to demand for this financial instrument.

Traditionally, the growth of the Bitcoin share indicates the instability of alternative cryptocurrencies, while the decrease in the value is regarded as the beginning of the "altcoin season".
