TON Foundation partners with Singapore-based ride-hailing app Tada, allowing users to pay with Toncoin and USDT on the Telegram platform.

TON Foundation, the organization behind The Open Network (TON) blockchain, has just announced a strategic partnership with Tada, a popular ride-hailing app in Singapore. Accordingly, Tada will integrate a cryptocurrency payment feature, allowing users to book a ride and pay with Toncoin (TON's native cryptocurrency) or Tether (USDT) via the Telegram Mini App.

Tada, a ride-hailing app founded in 2018, currently operates in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, and is expected to expand to Hong Kong by the end of 2024. The platform operates a zero-commission policy, offering price benefits to both drivers and passengers.

Web3 applications in real life

Harvey Kim, Regional Director of Korea at TON Foundation, announced that this collaboration is an important step forward in promoting real-life Web3 applications. Integrating cryptocurrency payments into ride-hailing services, a field familiar to users, helps to bridge the gap between blockchain technology and mass users.

To promote the partnership, the TON Foundation and Tada will be offering 4,000 free rides and discounts to attendees of the Token2049 event in Singapore next week. Users can take advantage of the offer by simply using the Telegram Mini App, without having to download a new app.

Mr. Kim emphasized the importance of building partnerships with Web2 platforms like Tada to introduce the benefits of Web3 to users easily and effectively. The combination of ride-hailing, social networking, and cryptocurrency payments in this collaboration is considered a unique model, opening up the potential for other innovative applications in the future.
