Federal judge temporarily blocks Biden administration rule limiting flaring of natural gas at oil wells

A federal judge in North Dakota has temporarily blocked a new Biden administration rule aimed at reducing gas venting and flaring at oil wells. Earlier this year, North Dakota, Montana, Texas, Wyoming and Utah challenged the rule in federal court, arguing that it would hamper oil and gas production and that the Interior Department's Bureau of Land Management was overstepping its authority with respect to non-federal mineral and air pollution.
