Odaily Planet Daily News: A court filing on Thursday showed that cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has requested a jury trial in the case filed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). A California judge ruled last month that the SEC's lawsuit against Kraken will go to trial. The ruling came after the agency made similar rulings in cases filed against Binance and Coinbase (COIN), which also faced charges of violating federal securities laws and were not registered with the SEC as brokers, clearing houses or exchanges. Last November, the SEC sued Kraken in the Northern District of California, asking the court to permanently prohibit the exchange from further securities violations, to recover its "ill-gotten gains" and other civil penalties. The regulator listed ADA, ALGO, ATOM, FIL, FLOW, ICP, MANA, MATIC, NEAR, OMG and SOL tokens as 11 unregistered securities. In Thursday's court filing, Kraken reiterated its position that it denies that it has engaged in illegal behavior, responded to every allegation in the SEC lawsuit, and put forward 18 other defenses.
